Location & Travel
This field‑based position covers Washington, Oregon, California, Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, Nevada, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, Hawaii, and Alaska. The role requires 60–70% travel.
Responsibilities
- KOL Development and Field Engagement : Identify and develop peer‑to‑peer relationships with key opinion leaders and healthcare providers; develop and execute territory plans; communicate key clinical and research insights; participate in medical education at institutions, investigator meetings, national conferences, advisory boards, and regional meetings; provide scientific support for medical congress staffing, advisory boards, and sales training initiatives.
- Positions Self as Scientific Expert : Maintain up‑to‑date, high‑level knowledge of the therapy area and Jazz products; establish trust as a scientific source; support Jazz positioning as a scientific authority; attend congresses; understand protocols and standards; provide scientific presentations; communicate emerging data; support data‑generation activities.
- Medical Affairs Planning and Execution : Contribute to the US Medical Plan; collaborate cross‑functionally with commercial, clinical development, and market access; act as a scientific resource for advisory boards, speaker development, and clinical trials.
- Company Standards & Jazz Values : Behave ethically and with integrity; serve as an ambassador to enhance Jazz’s image; report adverse events and product complaints; adhere to codes of practice; maintain a personal development plan; provide timely reporting.

Preferred
- Success supporting product launches in a field medical capacity.
- Managing multiple therapeutic areas simultaneously with prioritization and adaptability.
- Track record of effective clinical trial site support, including patient recruitment and investigator engagement.
- Understanding of regulatory requirements for field‑based personnel.
Required/Preferred Education and Licenses
- Advanced degree (PharmD, MD, PhD or equivalent) with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in Oncology or Rare Disease.
- License (RN, NP, CNP, PA or equivalent) with a Master’s degree and 5 years’ experience in Oncology or Rare Disease clinical practice.
- At least 2 years of experience as an MSL or comparable industry/clinical role.
- Experience in neuro‑oncology strongly preferred.
- Strong track record as a Medical Science Liaison strongly preferred.
- Willingly travel 60–70% of the time.
- Valid driver’s license and residence within 60 miles of a major airport.
Physical Demands
- Frequent travel between meeting sites.
- Frequent use of computer, printer, telephone, and similar office equipment.
Work Environment
- Frequent interactions with external contacts in office environments with minimal exposure to excessive noise, dust, fumes, vibrations, and temperature changes.
- Frequent use of laptop or tablet, often away from a workstation.
- Work schedule may include outside of normal hours.
- Frequent public contact requiring appropriate business apparel.
Compensation
Base pay range: $154,400.00 – $231,600.00. Individual compensation within this range depends on qualifications, skills, and experience. Eligible for discretionary annual cash bonus or incentive compensation, discretionary equity grants, and various benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and flexible paid vacation.
